    President Viktor Yushchenko met Michel Platini, President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the presidential press-service reports. Viktor Yushchenko noted he considers Platini's visit to Kyiv as demonstration of support to Ukraine in its right to host Euro-2012. The Ukrainian President stressed that Euro-2012 for Ukraine - is one of the state's national priorities. "Ukraine appreciates UEFA's decision to hold the Euro-2012 finals in Ukraine.     OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopts resolution on famine in Ukraine
    The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) "strongly encourages all parliaments to adopt acts regarding recognition of the Holodomor" of 1932-1933 in Ukraine, according to a resolution passed during a plenary meeting of the assembly's 17th annual session on July 3. According to N. Onishchuk, nobody can make the Cabinet to fulfill the terms of the agreement with this company concluded against its will. But risks should be also taken into consideration that may arise in case of the agreement termination related to violation of obligations by another party. Vanco then may demand satisfaction of its interests in the court, including payment of damages due to nonfulfillment of the agreement, the minister said.

    The level of Ukrainian - Latvian dialogue demonstrates high political trust, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said during his talks with Latvian President Valdis Zatlers, who is staying on a state visit in Kyiv.     Ukraine and Georgia lost their chance to join the NATO Membership Action Plan during the Bucharest summit, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said following the extraordinary meeting in Bucharest Thursday. At the same time, he said, agreement was reached that the two countries would make their weighty contribution to the current operations of the Alliance. According to Scheffer, the heads of states and governments ordered foreign ministers to study the progress Ukraine and Georgia made on their path to the Membership Action Plan, and pass a final decision on their applications during the meeting in December.

    NAFTOGAZ, GAZPROM REACH AGREEMENT ON CRISIS SETTLEMENT
    Following telephone talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Viktor Yushchenko of Ukraine, Russia's Gazprom natural gas monopoly president Aleksey Miller and national joint stock company Naftogaz of Ukraine board chairman Oleh Dubyna reached agreement on settlement of the crisis situation in bilateral gas relations. Gas supply issues will be regulated, and talks on other questions of cooperation in gas industry will continue, reads a joint statement of Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine.

    PRESIDENT MAY BEGIN CONSULTATIONS ON VR'S DISSOLUTION - BOHATYRIOVA
    President Viktor Yushchenko may begin consultations with political forces as regards the possibility of the parliament's dissolution unless it resumes work in the nearest few days, according to the statement signed by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rayisa Bohatyriova. Ms. Bohatyriova reminded that the head of state has already expressed concern about the parliament's inefficiency and its inability to find a way out of the current crisis.

    GAZPROM REDUCES GAS SUPPLIES TO UKRAINE
    Russian gas monopoly Gazprom has informed the affiliate company of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrtransgaz, about reducing gas supplies to Ukraine by 30 million cu. m. per day, Naftogaz press service reported. The relevant telegram from Gazprom arrived at 9.34 a.m. Kyiv time. Naftogaz assured that the move will not affect Ukrainian consumers. Gazrom earlier stated it will cut gas supplies to Ukraine by 25 percent as of 9 a.m. March 3 unless Ukraine's debt is settled. On February 29 Gazprom's official representative Sergei Kupriyanov said that Ukraine has not fully settled the debt for the gas supplied in 2007.

    RADA WILL START PRODUCTIVE WORK SOON, PRESIDENT ASSURES
    The work of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine will be unblocked in the nearest future, President Viktor Yushchenko told the Europe - Ukraine international forum in Kyiv Thursday. "We are convinced that Ukraine will have a working parliament one of these days, and the far-fetched circumstances under which the upper part of the confrontation was formed, will become a thing of the past," the head of state noted, expressing confidence that the parliament will return to productive work.
