President Viktor believes that Ukraine and Poland succeeded during the first year of preparation to Euro-2012, he told a meeting of the Coordination Council for Euro-2012 in Lviv (West Ukraine).
The President said that a document base has been put in the joint project over the period, the two presidents signed the joint declaration to strengthen cooperation on preparation to Euro-2012 between Ukraine and Poland, Ukraine and Poland's governments signed the intergovernmental agreement of cooperation, the Ukrainian-Polish Committee on Preparation and Holding the Euro-2012 Finals was signed. Today, representatives of the Euro-2012 hosting cities have signed a declaration to establish a Council of Ukraine and Poland's Cities which will host the Euro-2012 finals.
President Yushchenko reiterated importance of the Euro-2012 holding in the country for Ukraine's European integration. In the context he dwelled on unresolved problems. In particular, according to V. Yushchenko, it is necessary to simplify a border-crossing procedure for Ukrainian and Polish citizens for the period of Euro-2012 and enhance checkpoints' traffic capacity on the border.
